Personal Injury

Personal Injury law governs any case that involves an accident or other events that causes or results in loss of limb, incapacity, or wrongful death. Most of these accidents occur away from the worksite. The fallout from these accidents includes astronomical medical bills, loss of income, as well as physical and emotional distress.

Our firm understands that being a victim of a wrongful injury can negatively impact your life. Serious accidents don't just cause temporary physical pain, they can create a lifetime of suffering, for both you and your loved ones. It can be a heavy burden for the family left to care for the injured person.

Common types of cases we handle:

  • Amputation
  • Paralysis
  • Birth Injury
  • Slip and Fall
  • Pedestrian Accidents
  • Head/Brain Injury
  • Burn Injury
  • Car Accidents
  • Truck Accidents
  • Wrongful Death

Negotiating a fair and just settlement to obtain the maximum compensation can be an overwhelming task for an injured person to take on alone. Fighting for this payment is necessary to ease the pain and suffering caused by the negligence of others.

The insurance company has a wealth of experience in claims negotiations, which they will use against you in court. They will stall and lowball your case because they know that you are not likely to take the case to trial against them.

Workers' Compensation

Workers' compensation laws were enacted to guarantee that employees are provided immediate medical care and income benefits after suffering an on-the-job injury. This is a no-fault system that ensures the injured worker receives compensation without having to sue his or her employer.

A provision in these laws also covers benefits allotted for dependents of employees who lost their lives due to work-related accidents or illnesses. In the state of Georgia, if your employer has three or more employees, they are required to have workers' compensation insurance. If you are injured on the job, you are entitled to recover income benefits and to have your medical care paid for by your employer's insurer.

Filing a workers' compensation claim is similar to filing an insurance claim. It isn't a lawsuit against an employer, but rather a request for benefits. If you have been injured at work, we can explain the complexities of workers' compensation and help you secure the maximum benefits for which you are entitled.

When you are injured at work, you can’t always rely on your employer, boss, or co-workers to back your claim for workers’ compensation. The insurance company hired by your employer already has lawyers working to deny or minimize your claim.

Even if you were seriously injured or disabled, there are timeframes and statutes of limitations for filing a workers' compensation case. There could also be some technicality you haven't complied with, or you may not be aware that you are entitled to additional benefits.

Do not rely on insurance companies to tell you what your rights and benefits are. These entities are focused on maintaining their bottom line. They make sure that you are not adequately compensated for your injuries and lost income to get the treatment you need. You should not trust them to take care of you, as their priority is to please their shareholders and not to help a worker injured on the job.
